ACHIEVEIT & APCS JOIN FORCES

After five years maintaining an “arms length” relationship, sibling companies Australian Project & Consulting Services (“APCS”) and AchieveIT Australia have merged. The “new” AchieveIT provides end-to-end technology and advisory services that empower customers to take their technology enabled business ideas from concept through to reality and on to sustainable operations.

"When we launched AchieveIT in 2007 we decided to keep APCS’ consulting and project management capabilities independent of AchieveIT’s products and systems integration services. This was largely because APCS was focused on Enterprise and Government and AchieveIT was pitched at SMEs,” said Scott Coleman, Managing Director AchieveIT Australia.

“Over time, we realised that an increasing number of customers were shared by both organisations and having two distinct brands was not adding any additional value. This triggered the idea to bring the businesses closer together and ultimately to merge operations.”

Craig Dennis, Director of Consulting Services added: “The more we thought about it, the more it made sense to be able to provide a consistent and unified offering for our customers. Now AchieveIT can help uncover and shape great business ideas, manage complex business/technology projects AND provide the on-going technical support that we have become famous for.”

“We also decided to leverage the strength of the AchieveIT name. Whether you pronounce it “Achieve IT” or “Achieve it” the message tells it like it is. Our company is focused on leveraging technology to deliver business success,” said Dennis.

And what of APCS – a venerable brand that has delivered major projects such as the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Data Network and has worked with flagship customers including the Victorian Government, KPMG and Rio Tinto? “APCS will continue on, albeit with a diminished presence,” said Coleman. “It will become a boutique brand that offers individual and specialised services such as whole of project outsourcing. In many ways APCS is going back to its grass roots.”

From 25 November 2011, Australian Project & Consulting Services (APCS) will amalgamate with AchieveIT Australia to form a single technology and professional services company, AchieveIT Australia, that will help businesses become more successful through the sensible implementation of information technology.
